1st Samford Valley Beavers: 15 Chief Scout Bronze Awards!

The First Samford Valley Beaver Scouts Colony, which meets weekly in Holbrook, have had real cause for celebration as 15 of their Beaver Scouts received their Chief Scout Bronze Awards at the end of November. District Commissioner, Graham Parker, attended as a special guest to present the Beaver Scouts with their badges. 
 
Some of the activities the Beavers took part in to earn the smart bronze and blue badge included: grass sledging; learning greetings in 26 languages for a Cheeky Monkey Challenge; sailing; hiking; making healthy food; learning the countryside code; chinese drumming; and being good citizens and serving in the local community.  
 
 
Leaders, Sara McCullum, Melanie Holmes and April Day were all moved and felt very proud of the Beaver's hard work and efforts. 
Melanie Holmes said: "Some of the Beavers that received awards tonight have been with us since we set up the colony in 2010. Many of them are preparing to move up to the Cubs section as they turn 8 years old and we will miss them very much. They bring us lots of fun and make us very proud! We want to congratulate them all and thank them for a happy time. We, also, want to publicly thank parents for the valuable support they give the children and the group."

christmasPostThe Ipswich Scouts Christmas Post is back for the 25th year! Scout Groups from Ipswich, Claydon, Kesgrave and Martlesham will be delivering Christmas cards in and around Ipswich. 

For just 20p per card (any size), the various groups will deliver your cards by December 24th. Explorer and Network 10th Birthday Badge

10thbirthdayTo celebrate the tenth anniversary of the introduction of the Explorer Scout and Scout Network sections, we're releasing a special occasional badge, chosen by members of the Movement.

After a month of voting, the deadline has now passed, and Explorers and Network members have selected their favourite from a choice of three very different badges.
